Analysis of Documents on the causes of the War of 1812 Answers

Document A
POV-
War Hawks
Evidence-
It's like he is saying he will give those people Montreal and
Upper Canada if they win it in war

Document B
POV-
War Hawks
Evidence-
It's like he/she is asking for war like
what a war hawk would want

Document C
POV-
Federalists
No war against americans
Evidence-I think it is a federalist because he says “It cannot be believed by any man who will reflect, that the savage tribes, uninfluenced by other Powers, would think of making war on the United States”. Its like he is saying he is a federalist. he is saying it is not good to start war against the US. Like what a federalist would say.

Document D
POV-
Federalist
Evidence-
I think it is federalist because he acts like he doesn't like war. like he is a federalist. He is saying     “Advantage had been taken of the spirit of the Indians, broken by . . . war”. its like he is saying he dosent like war and the spirit of the indians has died because of war

Document E
POV-
War Hawks
Evidence-
It seems like he is saying they should go to war by saying . It is to acquire a preponderating [greater] Northern influence that you are to launch into war. It seems like he is saying to go to war. He is saying to acquire a greater northern influence, you have to launch into war.

Document F
POV-
Federalist
Evidence-
I think it is federalist because he says . . . under the pretext of searching for [British subjects], thousands of American citizens . . . have been torn from their country and from everything dear to them; have been dragged on board ships of war of a foreign nation and exposed under the severities of their discipline, to be exiled to the most distant and deadly climes, to risk their lives in the battles of their oppressors . It seems like he is saying the americans are being forced to go into war and that they shouldn't have to.

Document G
POV-
Federalist
Evidence-
I think it is federalist because he says  How are our mariners benefited by a war which exposes those who are free, without promising release to those who are impressed? He is saying like why should people go to war to be killed or kill other people?

Document H
POV-
Do the War Vote & the Map favor the “War Hawks” or the Federalists?
There are more people who wanted war than people who didn't want war. I would vote for no war
Evidence-
What does this show about the mood of the U. S. as far as going to war is concerned?
The people wanted war more than people who didn't want war. They felt like they needed war. But more states were untitled. The least were not voting.

Document I
POV-
Does the document reflect the “War Hawk” point of view or the Federalist point of view?
I think it is warhawks POV
Evidence-
How can you tell which point of view it supports?

It is saying that war will always be the same like there will always be war like what a war hawk would say. If it was a federalist, they would be saying there would be no more war.

Document J
POV-
Does this show the “War Hawks” or the Federalist point of view was more popular?
The war hawks POV was more popular
Evidence-
How can you tell?

Because James Madison was a Warhawk and there is more Warhawks votes than federalist votes.
