What is My Opinion on Frederick Douglass?
Based on the Narrative and Documentary, Frederick Douglass was quite an interesting man. He was born into slavery as Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey. He was a slave in the beginning of his life and towards the end, he was free. While he was a slave, he went from owner to owner. One of his owners wife taught him the alphabet. He taught himself how to read and write. He wrote books and things like that in his spare time. I thought it was very impressive on how he taught himself to read and write. He did many things that were impressive.
He tried to escape slavery 2 or 3 times but he failed. He tried to escape slavery one more time and he successfully did it. I thought that that was amazing how he escaped. While he was not a slave anymore, he became the leader of the abolitionist movement. He wrote books about anti-slavery and about his life and when he was a slave. All the things he did after he escaped slavery were very impressive since he didn't know much about the world outside of slavery. My opinion on Frederick Douglass is that he is a very interesting and impressive man. He wrote lots of things including the Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, which is an amazing on how he could write so good.
You wrote a very good summary. I might mention, though, that he lived approximately 50 more years after he escaped slavery.
